Paul Gowon Haruna, a member representing Bassa/Dekina Federal Constituency, alongside the Kogi State Commissioner for Works, Salami Momodu Ozigi Deedat, has met with the Minister of Works, David Umahi, to discuss the deteriorating condition of key road networks in Kogi State.
The meeting focused on addressing the poor state of infrastructure across the state, with particular attention given to critical routes affecting mobility and economic activities.
Speaking during the engagement, Haruna stressed the urgent need for federal intervention, highlighting the deplorable condition of the Dekina/Shintaku Spur.
The road links several communities, including Dekina, Olowa, Abocho, Emewe, and Ogbo Junction, and is considered vital for transportation and local commerce.
He called for the swift construction of the road, noting that improved connectivity would significantly boost economic development and ease movement for residents.
Further discussions also centered on strategies to fast-track the construction of the Dekina/Shintaku Spur, with stakeholders emphasizing its importance to the region’s infrastructure network.
