The Bureau News: Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan Completes PDP Screening for 2027 Kogi Central Senatorial Race

Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan has successfully completed the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) screening exercise ahead of the 2027 general elections, clearing a major hurdle in her bid to seek re-election for the Kogi Central Senatorial District, The Bureau News reports.

The screening exercise was held in Lokoja, Kogi State, and featured aspirants contesting various positions on the platform of the PDP ahead of the party primaries.

Nigeria News Today: Natasha Confirms Successful Screening

Speaking after the exercise, Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan expressed gratitude to party leaders, supporters and residents of Kogi Central for their continued confidence in her leadership.

“Today, I travelled to Lokoja to participate in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) screening exercise for aspirants seeking elective offices in the 2027 general elections.

“Taking no chances, I arrived fully prepared with all required credentials and supporting documents. I am pleased to have successfully completed the screening exercise as part of the process ahead of the party primaries for the 2027 Kogi Central Senatorial Election under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP),” she said.

The Bureau News: Natasha Outlines Second-Term Agenda

The lawmaker described the screening as an important democratic process and reaffirmed her commitment to quality representation, purposeful leadership and inclusive development across Kogi Central.

She said her proposed second-term agenda would focus on:

  • Youth and women empowerment programmes
  • Scholarships and educational support initiatives
  • Rural road rehabilitation
  • Improved healthcare delivery
  • Expansion of electricity infrastructure
  • Strengthened community security collaboration
  • Job creation and economic development

According to her, these initiatives are designed to benefit the five local government areas that make up the Kogi Central Senatorial District.

Nigeria News Today: Commitment to Service and Unity

Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan said her political mission remains anchored on service, unity and inclusive leadership.

She pledged to intensify efforts to attract more federal projects and investments to Kogi Central if given another mandate by the people.

Supporters across the district have described her successful screening as a significant milestone ahead of the PDP primaries and the 2027 general elections.

The Bureau News reports that the screening exercise marks the formal commencement of the PDP’s internal process for selecting candidates for the 2027 elections.
