A political aspirant, Mark Okpanachi Ogah, has officially declared his intention to contest for the House of Representatives seat representing Idah Federal Constituency in the 2027 general elections.

Ogah made the declaration on Friday in Abuja after obtaining his expression of interest and nomination forms at the Continental Hotel Abuja, describing the move as a “decisive step” in his political journey.

According to him, his decision to join the race is driven by a desire to provide more responsive and people-focused representation for constituents.

“This decision is not driven by personal ambition alone but by a deep sense of responsibility and service,” Ogah said. “Our constituency deserves more focused, responsive, and people-centered representation at the national level.”

He noted that his past efforts in community support, youth empowerment, and humanitarian initiatives reflect his long-standing commitment to service, adding that holding public office would enable him to expand these efforts on a larger scale.

Ogah stated that his aspiration represents a continuation of his service, now structured within a broader platform that would allow for stronger advocacy and sustainable development.

“I am prepared to bring energy, integrity, accessibility, and dedication to the task of representation,” he added.

The aspirant also highlighted his role as director of the City Boy Movement Kogi State Chapter, emphasizing his alignment with principles of unity, inclusion, and progressive leadership.

Calling for public support, Ogah urged constituents to see his ambition as a collective project.
“I humbly call on the good people of Idah Federal Constituency to support this journey. I ask that you see this aspiration as ours, not mine alone,” he said.

He expressed confidence in securing victory both at the party primaries and in the general election but stressed that success ultimately depends on the will of the people.

The 2027 general elections are expected to feature competitive races across constituencies, with candidates positioning themselves to address local development challenges and representation at the national level.
