A youth organization in Nigeria’s Middle Belt region, the Middle Belt Rebirth Youth Group (MBRYG), has expressed support for the country’s Minister of Defence, Christopher Musa, citing his efforts to address insecurity.

In a statement dated March 13, 2026, and signed by its leader, Daniel Ameh, the group said it had passed a vote of confidence in the minister’s leadership. It credited him with intensified actions against banditry and other forms of criminal activity across the country.

“Under his leadership, we have seen improved security measures and sustained operations against insurgents,” the statement said.

Nigeria has faced persistent security challenges in recent years, including insurgency in the northeast and banditry in parts of the northwest and central regions.

Authorities have continued to implement military and community-based strategies aimed at restoring stability.

The group also highlighted what it described as the minister’s collaboration with security agencies, community leaders, and youth organizations as part of broader efforts to tackle insecurity.

MBRYG said it supports ongoing initiatives by the Ministry of Defence to improve national security and protect civilians.
