President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has commissioned multiple landmark infrastructure projects in Kebbi State as part of activities marking the 61st Argungu International Fishing and Cultural Festival.

The President arrived in Birnin Kebbi to attend the Agricultural Fair and Display segment of the globally recognised festival. He was received at the airport by Governor Nasir Idris, the Minister of State for Defence, and several state governors.

The Federal Government had earlier officially flagged off the Argungu Fishing Festival in Abuja and Argungu Local Government Area, underscoring its national importance.

Projects Commissioned in Kebbi State

During his visit, President Tinubu commissioned several major projects executed by the Kebbi State Government, including:

  • An ultra-modern State Secretariat
  • The dualised three-lane carriageway along Emir Haruna Road, Birnin Kebbi
  • College of Nursing and Midwifery Sciences, Ambursa
  • Kebbi State Central Motor Park
  • Argungu By-Pass Road dualised by the Nasir Idris administration

“I’m not surprised at these achievements because I knew the governor even before now,” President Tinubu said while commending Governor Nasir Idris for what he described as significant progress within two and a half years.

The Bureau News: Focus on Made-in-Nigeria Policy

President Tinubu stated that the introduction of strong local content participation in this year’s festival aligns with the Federal Government’s commitment to promoting Made-in-Nigeria goods and strengthening domestic industries.

He emphasised that Nigeria’s automotive industry alone holds the potential to generate billions of dollars annually if properly harnessed.
