The Bureau News: Kebbi Youth Push for Greater Political Representation

Khalifa commended the administrations of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Kebbi State Governor, Dr Nasir Idris, for what he described as significant achievements in infrastructure development and youth empowerment.

He noted that although youths have had some level of representation in governance, there is still a need for more opportunities to enable them contest elective positions across the state.

According to him, deliberate support and encouragement from government authorities will help young people realise their full political potential.

Nigeria News Today: Youth Urged to Prepare for 2027 Elections

The NYCN chairman reaffirmed the council’s loyalty to both the federal and Kebbi State governments, urging youths to begin early preparations for active participation in the 2027 general elections.

“Youth participation in politics is critical to sustainable democracy because their contributions to nation building are immeasurable. Therefore, we need the support of Governor Idris and President Tinubu to attain our full political potential,” he said.

Khalifa also commended the Kebbi State Government for its youth empowerment programmes and new initiatives aimed at strengthening social safety nets.

He expressed optimism that these interventions would have a direct positive impact on youths across the state.

Call for Peaceful Political Participation

While encouraging greater political engagement, Khalifa cautioned youths against involvement in electoral violence.

He urged them not to allow themselves to be used as instruments by unpatriotic politicians, stressing the need for peaceful and responsible participation in the electoral process.

The Bureau News understands that the call reflects growing advocacy for youth inclusion in governance as Nigeria approaches the 2027 elections.
