Nigeria News Today: Kebbi NYCN Celebrates Women’s Contributions

Khalifa said the role of women in promoting sustainable peace, unity, and development in Nigeria cannot be ignored and must continue to be appreciated.

“On a day like this, we celebrate great daughters of Kebbi State who have contributed and are still contributing to women empowerment across the state,” he said.

He acknowledged the sacrifices and efforts of women within the Kebbi State Youth Council, noting that their support has played a vital role in the achievements recorded by the council.

NYCN Praises Women in Youth Development

According to the NYCN chairman, the organisation remains grateful to the women who have continued to support youth development initiatives in Kebbi State.

“We are deeply grateful to women in our fold. We celebrate you today, even as the council pledges to stand by all of you today and always as we struggle daily to support youths across genders to find their footing,” Khalifa added.

Commendation for Remi Tinubu and Kebbi First Lady

The NYCN chairman also commended the First Lady of Nigeria, Senator Remi Tinubu, for her efforts toward empowering women across the country.

He equally praised the First Lady of Kebbi State, Hajiya Zainab Nasir Idris, and Nafisa Nasir Idris for their roles in supporting programmes that help women build sustainable livelihoods and brighter futures.

The Bureau News reports that International Women’s Day is celebrated globally every year on March 8 to recognise the achievements of women and advocate for gender equality and empowerment.
