Leaders and stakeholders of the Lagos State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) have unanimously endorsed President Bola Tinubu for a second term in the 2027 general elections. This endorsement was made during the APC Stakeholders’ Forum 2025, held at Eko Hotels and Suites on Tuesday.

The event featured notable attendees including Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, his deputy Dr. Obafemi Hamzat, Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly Mudashiru Obasa, former Minister of Works and Housing Babatunde Fashola, and other prominent party members.

Governor Sanwo-Olu, who led the call for Tinubu’s re-election, praised the president for his “creditable and transformational performance” in his first two years, especially in the oil and gas sector. He stated that President Tinubu has surpassed expectations within a short period and that the Lagos APC is proud to stand solidly behind him for a second term in 2027.

Former Governor Fashola emphasized the necessity of a reward system to motivate party members and maintain loyalty. He noted the concerning voter apathy, with less than 30% of registered voters participating in the recent elections, and urged the party to implement people-oriented programs to rekindle public enthusiasm.

GAC Chairman Prince Tajudeen Olusi called for elected officials to reconnect with their grassroots base, stressing the need for improved communication and engagement.

Lagos APC Chairman Pastor Cornelius Ojelabi announced a ₦20 million cash prize for the local government area with the highest number of newly registered voters, and a ₦5 million prize for the winning political ward. He also revealed plans to refund fees paid by aspirants who lost in recent council elections, once council chairmen finalize appointments.

Representatives from the APC National leadership urged members to deepen youth engagement and counter opposition narratives. They highlighted the contributions of federal lawmakers from Lagos to the success of Tinubu’s administration.
