The National Youth Coalition for Good Governance has unanimously passed a vote of confidence in Dr. Mustapha Abdullahi, Director-General of the Energy Commission of Nigeria (ECN), citing what it described as his “exceptional leadership and transformative vision” for Nigeria’s energy sector.
In a statement issued on Sunday in Abuja, the coalition commended Dr. Abdullahi for demonstrating strong commitment to reforming the country’s energy landscape within a short period in office.
According to the group, the ECN under Abdullahi’s leadership has prioritized youth empowerment through the launch of skills acquisition programs, internship placements, and mentorship initiatives that have reportedly benefited thousands of young Nigerians nationwide.
The coalition also highlighted ongoing infrastructure development efforts aimed at improving energy access, promoting renewable energy solutions, and enhancing energy efficiency. These initiatives, it said, are contributing to economic growth and strengthening Nigeria’s energy security.
In addition, the group noted improvements in human capital development within the commission, particularly through enhanced capacity-building programs designed to promote professionalism and operational excellence among ECN staff.
Chairman of the coalition, Comrade Daniel Ameh, described the ECN Director-General as “a true champion of Nigeria’s energy transformation.”
“Dr. Mustapha Abdullahi’s dedication to empowering youths, driving infrastructure development, and investing in human capital is exemplary. We have confidence in his leadership and look forward to continued success,” Ameh stated.
The coalition further pledged its continued support for Abdullahi’s policies and initiatives, emphasizing that his leadership has fostered innovation, transparency, and accountability within the commission.
Stakeholders in the energy sector will be watching closely as the ECN continues to implement reforms aimed at strengthening Nigeria’s energy framework and supporting national development goals.
