Nigerian Army Opens Portal for Direct Short Service Commission Course 29/2026

The Nigerian Army has officially opened its online application portal for the Direct Short Service Commission (DSSC) Course 29/2026, inviting qualified Nigerians to apply for commission as officers.

The DSSC programme is open to both civilians and serving military personnel who possess relevant professional qualifications required by the Nigerian Army.

Successful applicants will be commissioned into specialised corps, where their professional expertise will contribute to national defence and internal security operations.

Available Corps Under DSSC 29/2026

According to information obtained by The Bureau News, successful candidates may be commissioned into the following corps:

  • The Nigerian Army Engineers
  • Nigerian Army Signals
  • Nigerian Army Medical Corps
  • Nigerian Army Electrical and Mechanical Engineers
  • The Nigerian Army Education Corps

Application Details

The Nigerian Army stressed that the application process is free of charge and must be completed online.

The application portal will be open from January 7 to February 4, 2026.

Interested applicants are advised to apply early and ensure that all required information is correctly submitted to avoid disqualification.
