Stable Food Prices: Hon. Honorius Arome Commends Gov. Ododo for Strengthening Kogi Food Security

Nigeria News Today — The Bureau News reports that Hon. Honorius Arome, the Senior Special Assistant to Kogi State Governor Usman Ododo on Farm Inputs, has praised the governor’s strategic interventions for keeping food prices stable across the state.

Hon. Arome said the stability currently enjoyed in major markets is directly linked to Governor Ododo’s rapid distribution of fertilizers, mechanized farming equipment, improved seedlings, and other agricultural incentives designed to boost productivity.

Speaking with journalists in Lokoja, Arome noted that the governor’s programmes have reduced production costs for farmers, improved yields, and helped Kogi avoid the sharp food price spikes reported in other parts of Nigeria.

“His Excellency has shown exceptional leadership. The timely supply of farming inputs and modern implements has boosted productivity and kept Kogi’s food prices stable,” Arome stated.

He added that Gov. Ododo’s passion for food security aligns with national calls for states to strengthen local production amid economic disruptions. According to him, more young people are returning to farming due to the supportive environment created by ongoing reforms.

Arome commended the governor’s innovative ideas, saying they reflect a clear commitment to ensuring households across the state do not slip into food insecurity. He urged farmers, cooperatives and community leaders to continue partnering with government agencies to sustain progress.

Kogi State News: Food Security Gains Strengthen Local Economy

Analysts told The Bureau News that steady food prices in Kogi State contribute to market stability, household spending balance and improved rural economic growth. Many of these gains tie back to Ododo’s agricultural strategy, which mirrors global best practices recommended by development agencies such as the FAO.
