In a significant shake-up within the All Progressives Congress (APC), former Governor Abdullahi Adamu Masari has been appointed as the new Chairman of the APC 2026 National Convention Central Coordination Committee.
Governor Hope Uzodimma, who was previously named to lead the committee overseeing preparations for the party’s pivotal 2026 National Convention, has been reassigned to the role of treasurer.
The party also announced an expansion of the committee’s membership, increasing its size from 73 to 90 members to accommodate additional representatives from across the party’s leadership ranks.
Among those newly added to the committee is Senator Barry Mpigi, alongside several other senior APC chieftains, reflecting the party’s intent to broaden representation and input as it prepares for the upcoming national gathering.
The reshuffle, confirmed by party sources on Friday, underscores internal strategic adjustments within the APC as it positions itself ahead of the 2026 political calendar.
Details on the reasons behind the leadership changes and how the expanded committee will function are expected to be outlined in an official party statement soon.
