International Health Bodies Donate N3m to Family of Deceased Partner in Kebbi | Nigeria News Today

International development partners, including the World Health Organization (WHO), United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), and Rotary International, have donated N3 million to the family of the late Hauwa Usman Gwandu in Kebbi State.
The gesture came during a condolence visit to the bereaved family in Birnin Kebbi, following the sudden death of the deceased, who served as the Kebbi State Coordinator of the Cigari Foundation.
According to reports, the late Hauwa Usman Gwandu passed away while attending a development partners’ meeting in Birnin Kebbi, where she reportedly slumped and died in the course of her duties.
Recognition of Service and Dedication
During the visit, the delegation, acting on behalf of global health bodies, presented a certificate of dedicated service to humanity in recognition of her contributions to public health and community development.
A cheque of N3 million was also handed over to her father, Alhaji Usman Gwandu, as a token of appreciation for her commitment and selfless service.
“Her memory remains fresh in our hearts. She was a God-fearing, dedicated, and selfless young woman who gave her life in service to humanity,” her father said.
Family Expresses Gratitude
Speaking amid emotion, the bereaved father expressed deep appreciation to the visiting delegation, noting that the gesture reaffirmed that his daughter’s sacrifices were not in vain.
He described the visit as a source of comfort to the family and said it would strengthen their relationship with the organisations his daughter worked with during her lifetime.
The delegation included Dr. Nasir Bala Zurmi, Kebbi State Coordinator of WHO; Aminu Usman, UNICEF Field Coordinator; and representatives of Rotary International.
Prayers were offered for the repose of her soul, as family members, colleagues, and well-wishers continue to mourn her passing.
