Kebbi State Governor, Comrade Nasir Idris, has been honoured with the traditional title of Sardauna by the Dosso Emirate of the Republic of Niger — a rare cross-border recognition of his leadership and service to humanity. The Bureau News reports that the conferment took place on Thursday in Birnin Kebbi.
Sultan of Dosso Presents Title in Birnin Kebbi
The Sultan of Dosso, Amadou Sounna Seydou Djermakoye, personally presented the letter of appointment to the governor, citing his exceptional merit and consistent delivery of democratic dividends to the people of Kebbi State.

Emir of Argungu Hails Niger Republic’s Recognition
The Emir of Argungu, Alhaji Muhammad Sama’ila-Mera, expressed satisfaction that the governor’s efforts had earned international recognition, describing the gesture as a reflection of the deep-rooted ties between Nigeria and Niger Republic.
He thanked the Dosso Emirate for finding Governor Idris worthy, noting that the honour strengthened the fraternal bond shared by both nations.
Governor Pledges to Do More for Kebbi People
Receiving the title with gratitude, Governor Idris described Nigeria and Niger as “twin sisters that nobody can separate.” He pledged to intensify efforts for the people of Kebbi State and commended residents for their continued support of his administration.
