The Bureau News reports that a former Special Adviser to the Kebbi State Governor on Power and Political Matters, Alhaji Kabiru Sani, popularly known as Giant, has declared his intention to contest for the Kebbi Central senatorial seat ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Giant is set to challenge the incumbent senator, Senator Adamu Aliero, under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Confirming his ambition in a message to journalists via WhatsApp, the aspirant said he has been actively involved in politics for decades, supporting other candidates, but has now decided to personally contest in order to bring change to Kebbi Central.
He expressed determination to end what he described as long-standing political dominance in the senatorial district, pledging to offer a new direction if given the opportunity.
“The time is now to change the baton and return legislative responsibilities to young and energetic leaders in Kebbi State,” he said.
Giant called on constituents of Kebbi Central to use their votes to redefine representation at the National Assembly, emphasizing the need for renewed energy and commitment in legislative duties.
His declaration is already generating political momentum within the state, as the ruling APC prepares for what observers describe as a highly competitive primary election season.
Political analysts note that the increasing number of aspirants for various elective positions may intensify internal party dynamics ahead of the primaries.
The Bureau News understands that the development signals the early buildup to the 2027 elections in Kebbi State, with stakeholders closely watching emerging alignments within the APC.
