Nigeria News Today: A woman identified as Favour Odoba has reportedly killed her husband, Mr. Momo Jimoh Jamiu, popularly known as Abdul-Kadir Nagazi, in Okene, Kogi State, following allegations linked to his decision to take a second wife. The Bureau News gathered that the tragic incident has thrown the community into shock.

Sources disclosed that the couple had been married for about nine years without a child. Trouble was said to have started after the deceased married another wife, who reportedly gave birth about two months ago.

A relative of the deceased, identified simply as Onono, narrated that Favour allegedly invited her husband to spend the night with her, only to later return his lifeless body to a hospital.

It was learnt that she allegedly dumped the body at the hospital and fled. Medical personnel were said to have become suspicious after initial examinations reportedly pointed to possible food poisoning and injections involving harmful substances, although the exact cause of death has not yet been officially confirmed.

Confirming the incident, the spokesperson of the Kogi State Police Command, CSP William Aya, said investigation is ongoing to ascertain the true circumstances surrounding the death.

According to him, “Investigation is ongoing to determine the actual cause of death and the circumstances surrounding it. The woman, said to be the wife of the deceased, is currently on the run. Efforts are being intensified to arrest her to assist with the investigation.”

The Bureau News notes that the case has raised serious concerns within the community as residents continue to await the outcome of the investigation. Nigeria News Today continues to monitor the development.
