Numbers are running high, voters excited. I visited a northeast side location about 2pm Monday, and it was packed! Cars circling the parking lot time and again trying to find a slot. One poll worker said it had been that way since early morning. As one driver passed he rolled down the window to ask what time the polls opened tomorrow. The response was 8 AM, he replied, I’ll be here at 7.
The atmosphere was genuinely friendly and casual. Firemen were in attendance and simply thanking the people for voting, regardless of how they voted. Wow, what a difference from the rhetoric espoused from the Vote No proponents.
Many other individuals who were supporting their candidates were there as well. Signs were everywhere. I think there was a sign for every candidate. If this interest keeps up it could be a new day in SA!
